    IM STILL AROUND
    D:

I just need to get back in the habit of keeping the interbutts here updated.
It'd really help if readers (if any) left comments. of any sort. irrelevant ones, if need be.
Thus, I request that any and all who read this respond in any way, shape or form. If I know that what I write is actually getting somewhere, moar motivation happens and so on so forth, and updates with interesting content will appear.
    thats how it works.

    ...
    yes, it is.

  • STAYING ALIVE

Im still around, but through an obscenely ridiculous and long series of stupid events, We dont have a reliable or good internet connection.

We've moved, of course, but it turns out AT&T wont give us service out here.
    well, good service at least.

They can provice us with a shitty dial-up connection, which we've had for the past few months.

It's been a MAJOR switch from having four seperate PC's all connected to an 8MB/ps connection, while mine alone is running an MMORPG, on two IM services, downloading music and uploading to art sites/message boards, to BOOM one computer with a 28.6 KB/ps connection.

    Im about to go insane.

    yeah.
Once I get a better connection, i'll update.

  • Silly japs.

    Brianrietta's birthday happens today.
    o:

yeah, so I didnt hardly have enough time to get up for church today.
We were over in the house out in the country, which adds another 5 minutes or so to the commute. and 30 minutes wasnt quite enough time to shower, locate clothing, put them on, get the necktie on right (i always get it too long or too short) and locate various commodities and then jump in the car.
so we were a bit late.

This here cordless mouse I kind of have...
    is a problem.

I bought it from Hong Kong through eBay, and whaddya know, The worst combination of things happened.
The item was defective and not quite working,
and they cant speak jack worth of english.

I was skeptical about buying something from them in the first place. It was something like $24 including shipping for a 5-button cordless rechargable PC mouse.

The item description said that it used 2 AAA batteries which were included, and that it was new.
Well, it was not new, it was in a homemade package, with a (poorly) photocopied users manual, and a copied CD with a homemade paper label. It came with ONE battery, while a blunt poorly-fitting peice of plastic was put inside the battery case, so only one battery would fit in.
it needs 3.0 volts to run.
the one battery provided was 1.2v.

Inquiring our slant-eyed sellers about this, they responded:

Hi,Thanks for your mail.We so sorry about that. The item is work with one battery, because the supplier upgrade the item quality.Would you try to insert another battery which is higher capacity for testing?Would you try to another computer which is running WIN 98 SE / 2000 / ME / XP?Don't worry, after clarify the problem, replacement will be arranged accordingly.Thank you for your patient and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Well, we 'try insert to other battery of higher capacity' and it didnt work.
because AAA only come in 1.5v, and it needs two, so it will have a 3.0 volt circuit.

Well, now they want us to send it back across the planet, Shipping to and from are on us. That will cost like $35.
This mouse should not cost us $60 because we went to eBay to save money in the first place, retards.

Yeah, im never buying something from asians again.

  • mmkay. calm down.

In an effort to turn this more in to a blog journal thing, Im gonna... well, make updates that you guys may care about for once.

As some of you may know, my family is moving.
Generic status report would entail that Dustin is still in Missouri, going to school and being a poor starving college student, the same for Cassandra who is in UT Arlington. Beth is still around, but by the end of summer will be moving with Cassandra in west-ish texas. Im 16, not quite old enough to move out on my own.

But regardless, downsizing is necessary. Having a smaller house with fewer people means less energy and less money spent on utilities and crap, so we can do all sorts'a crazy stuff now.

    ...
    at the end of summer.

    Backing up, We're moving.
One of the older couples in our church ward is heading out for about 18 months, some place like Samolia or New Africa or another generic expendable third-world country like unto them.
    I dont remember where.
But for the sake of upkeep, they want someone to take care of their super-awesome house that they built (no, they built it themselves. its pretty cool.) out in the country.
and since downsizing is necessary in our family, We're going to, uh, 'take care' of their house while they're out.
which is an indirect way of saying 'moving in'.

so Last night, we discovered just how old those guys were. Their living room stereo involved like a 24" HD TV, LCD so its hung on an arm hinge dealie from the wall. up toward the cieling.
Saves some floor space, but being so small, you cant see a damn thing up there.
Moreover, they have a 4.1 stereo 'surround' system. Maybe we're overlooking some steps, but we cant get the two back satellite speakers to turn on for anything.

When using the TV signal, for cable and such, just the TV speakers are on. When using the karaoke machine they have (which they just use to play their casette tapes and audio CD's) then it uses the two main speakers.
The same goes for the VCR/DVD playin's.

    No subwoofer.
I hooked up my MP3 player to it and turned on some simple game background music, and it sounded terrible.
    static-y, low bass, very quiet.

So most of what happened last night was disassembling our current surround sound system and moving the components we had the patience to work with.
I can tell you from experience that setting up surround sound systems is no simple task.

But once you get it in right, it is AWESOME.

Oh, speaking of, This new house doesnt have much of a place for our relatively arse-huge TV.
It isnt one I would call big screen or awesome, just.. wider than most i've seen.
Anyway, theres no place for it in the other house, And we're tired of fixing it every year about this time.
After enough usage, the power cords fry, the colors fade, or SOMEthing goes wrong, causing much anger and monetary depletion to get it back up and running.
so Whoever it is we give this big TV to wont find it as awesome as they thought.

    ...
    yeah.
Nothing else comes to mind, i'll throw in another update later, or tomorrow.
    :D
